HomeRoad Rallies

Lone Star Corvette Club Road Rallies are another way for our club to raise funds that will benefit the charities we support. Our Road Rallies are created by members who volunteer to create a scenic drive that yields lots of fun, friendships and camaraderie. The Road Rallies typically take 2 to 4 hours and usually measure over 100 miles of scenic back roads surrounding the DFW area. There are two different types of Road Rallies, a scenic drive and a scavenger hunt. Both are a lot of fun! Most drives include several rests stops and a lunch destination (Lunch is optional).

Please wear your club shirts for the event.

Registration is required for the event.

There is no charge to participate in the Road Rallies.  Remember we started these Road Rallies in COVID times to raise money for our charities.  If you would like to donate
whether you participate in the Road Rally or not, please click on the button below to donate.

UPDATES ON PAST RALLIES

Road Rally #12
Is now in the books

Rally #12 is now in the books.  I hope everyone had a good time as It was great to see everyone before we headed out. We met in the Parking Lot at Tanger Mall next to Buc-ees and enjoyed a Scenic Drive thru Aurora then onto Paradise (Texas).  Stopping at ALLSUPS in Jacksboro for a short break.  Headed West we passed through Runaway Bay where we were the talk of town as a coworker who lives there asked if I was a “part of 50 Corvettes (43 actually)” that buzzed their lakeside community on Saturday morning. Then we headed West onto Bryson.  We then turned South driving past Possum Kingdom Lake.  We then started winding our way back down to Santos on our beloved Highway 4 ending at Spring Creek Barbeque in Granbury.  Manny thanks to Mike and Terri Krieger, Glenn and Kristine Jones for all their behind-the-scenes efforts to pull this Rally off.

Thanks,

Bruce

Rally #10 is in the Books

What a cruise, Rally #10 went well.  We had 25 cars and 47 members attending.  On this rally we had quite a few new club members attending their first road rally event.  We departed the parking lot at the Ferris’s High School Stadium and traveled 70 miles on small farm to market roads without encountering a traffic light. The route was a fun drive through the countryside with only one unexpected segment of road construction. The road crew stopped their work and enjoyed the parade of beautiful corvettes.

Our rally ended at Bubba’s BBQ where we were able to enjoy lunch with both old and new corvette friends.

Thank you to all that took part in Rally #10

Rally #10

We will start the road rally at the Yellow Jacket Football Stadium next to the Ferris Jr, High School at 1002 E. Eight St. Ferris, Tx. Our route will take us East of I 45 traveling mostly country, Farm to Market Roads. The Rally will end at Bubba’s BBQ & Steakhouse in Ennis.

Charity Run #9

25 March 2023

Charity Run #9 is now in the books as the highest grossing Rally
with an income of just under $2000 from 79 Doners.

The 64 cars attending the event divided up into 5 driving groups ranging from Spicy to Ventage in speed.  Each group was lead by a group leader; Mike Black handled the Spicy group, Mike Krieger lead the “Not quit as Spicy” drivers, John Raiden and Gary Nesta each lead a Sunday Drive groups and Stan Hall brought up the rear with the Ventage drivers.

All the groups ran the same 140-mile route, leaving from the Factory Outlets off of 35W and Hwy 114.  The route ran west to Jacksboro, then turn south on “The Texas Fort Trail”, AKA, Hwy 4. All groups leaving 10 mins apart from the Factory Outlets, and finishing in Granbury for a group lunch on the square.

Road Rally #9 was a great success.  We want to say THANK YOU to all the participants.
We hope you had a good time.

Road Rally #7 UPDATE

What a blast!  We cannot thank everyone enough for their support of this Road Rally, whether you donated and weren’t able to attend, or came along for the ride, fellowship and food!  Also thanks to Johnny Downs for his input/support!

A few fun facts:

  • 67 cars signed up and believe 56 participated
  • We raised over $1,700 for our Club charities
  • There were 41 “fun” questions (disqualified two given something changed since we drove it).
    • About 15 teams submitted their fun question answers and everyone did a GREAT job.
    • The winner was Krysta Wagner with Letrys a very close second!

Thank you all again and again for coming along!  Phil & Kristina Davies
