Lone Star Corvette Club Track Day
Saturday November 8, 2014
At Eagle Canyon Raceway
Lone Star Corvette Club track day will be held this fall at Eagles Canyon Raceway, a 2.5 mile, 11 turn road course about 1 hour north of Fort Worth. This is NOT a competitive or a “Drive it Like ya Stole’ it” event, this will be geared for the people that wish to get a little taste of driving on a track before our club trip to Bowling Green next August for our two days of track time on the new NCM Motorsports Track. We will have classroom instruction for everyone and individual run groups for; Touring, Beginners, Novice and Advanced. The Beginners and Novice people will have an instructor in the right seat until “Solo Approved”.
Touring Laps; this is a “Lead and Follow” group (no passing) for those (Ladies or Gents) who prefer to just dip a toe in and sample the waters rather than run with a regular track session and have to deal with faster cars passing you. Classroom sessions are also scheduled for touring participants to learn the flags and the proper track Line. The Touring sessions will be at lower speeds while following an instructor driven pace car. Helmets Required.
Beginner Group; this I for the timers or people with limited track time that wish to experience open track driving (with an instructor in the right seat). The object here is not to see how fast you can drive, but how “Accurately” and “Smoothly” you can drive the line while keeping control the car under braking and acceleration. Helmets required.
Novice Group; this group is for those who have mastered the track line, smooth braking, acceleration and safe passing with good situation awareness and a working knowledge of the track flags. Once this has been achieved, Solo accreditation will be earned. Helmets Required.
LG Motorsports will be furnishing lunch and track support as in past events. LG’s mechanics will be on had just in case you need something looked at, adjusted or fixed before your ride home along with free consultation on how to make your ride handle better, stop shorter or run like a skulled cat!
Date; November 8 (Open to all LSCC Members and family).
Cost: $185 per driver.
